About rose4040

I am a widow with two teenage sons still at home with me. I ran across your site while looking for some legitamate grant funding resources to help me get back on my feet. After reading a couple of things on your site, I thought that it might not hurt to join it. I don't have any real friends left out there, even the ones I thought were good friends proved to be otherwise when my husband was killed. You'd think that'd be the time to step up...I have two grown children also. My oldest son helps me take care of his brothers and I help him take care of his sons...my grandsons (I have 3 and a granddaughter)...I am disabled but I'm still working part time because my survivors benefits don't cover much of anything. I don't know what I'll do when my 14 year old turns 18...they'll cut me off until I'm 62. I'm 48 now...anyway, maybe someone out there has some answers and advise for me and maybe I'll have some answers and advice for them...I have ta start somewhere.

About socalirishgirl

I volunteer to help Los Angeles women in a transitional setting and the house needs utility help and grant assistance, especially for the phone and internet.  The phone & internet keeps us in the loop and allows us to help each other as this website does! We are so glad we found this website and hope you all can help us solve this problem.

About memphisbird

Hi- I've been looking for grant funding to help me start a musician's all service business in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have been employed as a professional musician since I was 14- but I am now disabled and can't work at a regular job. As a result, I'm in great danger of losing my home while I wait for a settlement from either Workman's Comp or SSDI. I have both cases in litigation, but haven't gotten a dime from settlement.

If there's anyone out there who can direct me to a grant program that might assist me and my partner ( another low-income woman), I would be so grateful. I've been searching around on my own, and it's becoming obvious how few of these grants there really are.

Thanks for your help!!

Financial help developing a web-based program to help seniors

I have created a web-based communications channel to support the senior games mission of helping adults aged 50+ to adopt healthy active lifestyles. The program ultimately will pay for itself after about 6 months but requires an up front investment to get started. I am currently working with Iowa and Washington State to prove out the model. They are non-profits and run on sparse funding. The games are highly popular (fun) which after talking with health institutions, this environment provides a stronger impetus to learn and stay connected on matters related to health, exercise and recreation.  I would be able to commit my time to making this happen with a grand between $35,000 and $45,000.
The impact of this program will be a benefit to at least 35 states and the millions of residents within each state that fall into this age range.
With the impending health and obesity issues facing most (65%) Americans, the support I can offer these states will ensure higher awareness, participation and ongoing education to a now interested audience.
My development period (timeframe I need to be funded) is between September 2005 and February 2006. After that the income will come from health-related sponsors.
